Guest sentiment
A snapshot of what local diners frequently mention about this location.
"Strategic location, the staff is friendly & satset, decent taste."
"This might be part of a chain as there are many 'Mbok Sador's in Semarang if you try to google them... As you approach the stall there are often long lines to get your order... First, you get to choose your veggies, they are mostly the same as other pecel places... And then your sides, I got the chicken liver, marinated tempeh, and eggs), they serve many choices of protein, innards, skewers, etc. Top them off with either peanut or anchovy crackers... rice crackers are also optional... Finally everything is cut up using a scissor and drizzled with their house peanut sauce--it's a bit spicy, and not as sweet as other semarang pecels. THE VERDICT, this is arguably the best place to get pecel in Semarang... if you are a tourist Of course there are countless other pecel stalls in semarang, but if you are looking for one in a prime location with rows of proper tables (most legendary pecel stalls will get you sitting in a mat) then this might be your best bet..."
"Veggie salad with peanut sauce, a bit spicy but fresh. You should also add blood cockle satay"
"Small place, the price not really cheap if you take the additional like ampela/usus/hati and etc. The people friendly. You can find sate siput at here. The taste good. And you can find chocolate - cheese tape (sweet potato fermented) near here and also wedang jeruk nipis (lime wedang) drink"
"Having nasi pecel late at night around Simpang Lima Semarang was a unique culinary experience. The cool weather at the beginning of rainy season made the food even more enjoyable. The dish was simple: steamed green vegetables and bean sprouts drenched in spicy peanut sauce accompanied by several options of side dishes. I added chicken intestine satay and egg pancake (bantal) in addition to Javanese peanut cracker (peyek kacang) and rice crackers (kerupuk gendar). Overall there's nothing spectacular about the food, but the sensation of having late supper in traditional way was something that cannot be missed when visiting Semarang. Nasi Pecel Mbok Sador could be one better option to do so."
"Spicy pecel (Javanese salad). The owner helps us scissoring every dishes."
"The taste of the sauce is just right. There are a lot of topping, tripes, chicken satay, fried egg, perkedel etc. The serving process was bit slow because the same person prepares the food and the bill."
"This food stall sells a local version of salad with peanut sauce (pecel). Varieties of vegetables mixed in this salad are good, you can even find a particular flower in it. Only 7k for a portion of pecel! The side dishes, oh my god, it ranges from sweetened tofu, Tempe, salted egg, varieties of satay (they even have snail satay!) To choices of cow's internal organs hehehe. Only open at nights, as the night progresses, the queue also getting longer especially on weekends."
